BETSY BASTE – TECH SAVVY SENIORS INSTRUCTOR:
The “Tech Savvy Seniors” class helps older adults gain comfort with technology, covering basic computer skills, internet use, social media, video calling, online safety, useful apps, and troubleshooting. Classes are interactive, providing hands-on practice and personalized assistance to empower seniors.
JAZIZA DAIMA – BELLY DANCE INSTRUCTOR:
Jaziza Daima started learning Bellydance in 2003 with Sahar Gamal, who was one of the pioneers of Bellydance in Venezuela. What she loves about this dance is the opportunity to connect with your feminine side and express freely using a technique that is organic and natural to our bodies. Aziza believes dance is a great way to keep us connected as a community and bring joy to others.
KATHERINE “KAT” WHEATLEY – YOGA INSTRUCTOR:
Kat Wheatley is a yoga teacher and a certified Yoga Therapist.  She has immersed herself in the philosophy and practice of yoga as both student and teacher for over a decade. As a long time resident of Key Largo (over 25 years!) Kat joyfully brings yoga to our community with classes that are accessible to everyone.  She promotes safe and appropriate movement for each individual through the use of mats, chairs, and blocks.  Kat expertly weaves yoga philosophy, meditation, relaxation, breath work and healing energy into her classes, creating a truly welcoming and healing space for all.  
MARIA MENENDEZ – TAI CHI INSTRUCTOR
Maria Menendez dedicated herself to practicing Tai Chi Quan under Master Fang from 2009 to 2019. Master Fang instructed her in the 24 forms of Tai Chi Quan Yang style, as well as the 88 forms, focusing on the martial arts aspect. Additionally, he was a practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine. In 2022, Maria relocated to Key Largo, where she began teaching Tai Chi Quan at Largo Sound Park. Her mission as a Tai Chi instructor is to carry forward Master Fang’s legacy and highlight the significance of Tai Chi practice for our Mind, Body, and Soul wellness
MIKE EHLERSUKULELE INSTRUCTOR:
Joining a ukulele class is fun because it allows for social interaction, learning a new skill, and creative expression. Playing music can relieve stress, and the ukulele’s cheerful sound adds to the enjoyment. Classes often include group activities and performances, fostering a sense of community. Plus, it’s portable, so you can share music anywhere!
NADINE THOMPSON – CROCHETING INSTRUCTOR:  
Nadine has been crocheting since her youth and does not actually remember being taught. Her Grandmother and Mother crocheted and this art form just came naturally to her. Crocheting is a calming, meditative activity and is a great way to release stress.
Crochet classes are open to all skill levels from beginner to experienced. Nadine takes great pleasure in sharing this skill with others and seeing how they transform yarn into fun and beautiful creations.
